Ignorant

Yet knowing

Your Word was in me

And has since been growing

To think

I didn't have facts

But what You watched

Was how my heart reacts

When it sees You

And love overflows

Where my open wounds

Begin to close

Now I can see

Knowledge rises not above

What was wrought on the cross

Surrendered in love

A child in mind

A woman in heart

Though I know more

I've known You from the start

I've known Your love

I've known Your power

I've believed in You

Each and every hour

Though clueless

I was wise

Even with piggytails

I knew to see beyond my eyes

And under falling skies

Trials set before me

I never forgot their, our,

My redemption story

Illiterate

Yet fully feeling

On my heart, it was You

That I was sealing

Sometimes they forget

What sees more than sight

Sometimes they're so lost in darkness

That they don't feel for Light

I knew You

Even as I toddled

I loved You

Though my head often dawdled

I've always loved You

You've always loved me

Life apart from You

Was never anything that could be

Through my little self

The Spirit's always blowing

I am ignorant

Yet always and forever knowing
